herbkell Posted February 16, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted February 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just got my first B&W 486 filter for my Elmarit 21 (pre ASPH) and have discovered that the lens cap doesn't fit when the filter is attached. Â This is a bummer as I like to keep the lens cap on when transporting the camera and removing and fittng the filter often causes finger smears which have to be cleaned. Â Is this the same with other lenses?
carstenw Posted February 16, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 16, 2007 The 35 Cron Asph lens cap and lens hood work fine. Some have reported that if they loosen the filter slightly, the hood fits on. Then the filter can be tightened. I don't know if this works for the 21. I am not sure why the lens cap would not fit, given that the F-Pro filters are threaded with the same diameter. What stops it from working? Does the hood for this lens have its own cap which you could use instead, like the 35 Cron Asph?
marknorton Posted February 16, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted February 16, 2007 Do you mean the lens hood or the lens cap doesn't fit?
jaapv Posted February 16, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted February 16, 2007 Somehow the original Summicron 35 asph hood does not appeal to me. On the M8 I like to use the 12549 hood and cap. Â
