Fotomiguel Posted October 5, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted October 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hallo! I've bought the under water bag ewa-marine U-F for the M9/M8. I'm not going to use to underwater but for special ocasions when I want to go very close to the water, or very stormy weather, canoe, etc. My surprise is that the adapter to fix the lens to the bag is not the size for filters less than A- 49. Is possible to find a adapter for E-39 filters? Have any of you be successfull with this bag?

brill64 Posted October 7, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted October 7, 2011 i've not really thought about the m9 as an underwater camera system before but now you mention it...

billib Posted October 9, 2011 Share #4  Posted October 9, 2011 I was a retail photo store manager for twenty years. We stocked the EWA Marine line of water resistant camera cases. We would check them out to see how useful they were. The models with internal gloves seemed useless. I was a scuba diver at the time and tried a few out in the pool. It was almost impossible to use them with a camera underwater affectively. If you aren't diving, then I would look at the models without the internal glove. As far as adapters, I think the smallest lens adapter was 49mm. That may have changed.  My 2¢........YMMV. Let us know what model you get and if you find it useful or not. Fotomiguel Posted October 13, 2011 Author Share #5 Â Posted October 13, 2011 I've just recieved and adapter E-39 to A-52. I've try the M8 with a 28mm and seems to work fine. A bit tricky but with a bit of practice, I will do it work. I will tell you more in the next days.
pgk Posted October 13, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted October 13, 2011 The models with internalgloves seemed useless. Back in the days of the Nikon F801 (the first really viable AF underwater camera) I spent a dive with an F801 stuck on my hand in one of these:D. Once the depth exceeded a couple of meters the pressure clamped it onto my hand and I couldn't get it off. It worked BUT I'd suggest that anyone who buys one should try it out in wet conditions without the camera in it first - they can leak and seams can split. They need regular inspection for split seams and any other damage throughout their working life too. I'm not a great fan but they are viable and reasonably cheap for occasional use.
