Twotone Posted October 23, 2011 Share #21 Posted October 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys thought I would update this thread (apols to the OP for hijacking it). The stuff arrived yesterday however I had to pay about £113 in vat and fees at this end (UK) in addition to what I paid for the goods from America which was around $700 in total including post and handling charges etc. The lens and the other items are in amazing condition. I would say that the lens is totally brand new and has never ever been used or probably never been on a camera. The plastic keeper is damaged but it's okay and it has the original lens serial number sticker on it however the base has clearly been mixed up with the other lens that was sold as the base I have has the serial number sticker for that lens on it. The SOOKY-M 'Zur Leica M3' has been used but is in very very good condition and it came with the adaptor for the 50mm Summicron lens head but it's not engraved with the code UOORF but the other SOOKY-M's adaptor is engraved with the code number. That SOOKY-M has never been used and is in brand new condition however there is a different 'trademark' on it from the one for the M3 , it say's Leitz with the word Wetzlar underneath, the other one has E LEITZ with a small semi circle underneath that and underneath that there is the word WETZLAR all of this inside an engraved box. The engraved script on both are completely different from each other BTW. The boxes for each of are in very good condition considering their age, the box for the SOOKY-M is in actual fact in perfect condition except for two sticker marks on the front top. The ADVOO comes with a leather case and both it and the ADVOO has never ever been used they are both in brand new condition and the case is absolutely amazing, beautiful in fact. The other items are in good condition. One of the NOOKY hesums, the one for the 5cm Summicron, has never been used and is brand new too the other one has been used and is for a 5cm Hector or Summar and both the boxes are in good condition considering the age of these things. The Pleasant Auto UP SUPER NOOKY:1M-50cm is a Universal B type Dia 36mm and is for a F3.5 or F2.8 lens. This item is in fantastic condition and probably never used. Totally pleased with every thing, the service from the seller was fantastic and the I-Gavel auction itself was really good too, as was the couriers both side of the Atlantic. I'll post up some pictures when I get a chance guys.

Twotone Posted October 23, 2011 Share #23 Posted October 23, 2011 That is what makes me a little bit reluctant to buy outside EU, but you looks to be happy with the items and I am glad for you Don't know if the stuff I bought is indicative of the rest of the stuff sold from that collection jc but mine is in fantastic condition overall and is surely worth the extra IMO. BTW, since I own an M3 which SOOKY-M do you think I should keep for myself jc, the one specifically for the M3 which isn't in as good condition as the other SOOKY-M which is probably brand new? Thanks. Tony

jc_braconi Posted October 23, 2011 Share #25 Posted October 23, 2011 BTW, since I own an M3 which SOOKY-M do you think I should keep for myself jc, the one specifically for the M3 which isn't in as good condition as the other SOOKY-M which is probably brand new? Please can you be more precise about or post some picts are there 2 SOOKY-M or 1 is a SOMKY-UOORF ?
Twotone Posted October 23, 2011 Share #26 Posted October 23, 2011 Please can you be more precise about or post some pictsare there 2 SOOKY-M or 1 is a SOMKY-UOORF ? There are two SOOKY Ms jc. One is in a box labelled 'Zur Leica M3' this one comes with an adptor, an UOORF but the adaptor isn't engraved with that code the other is a in a box labelled 'SOOKY-M' and that comes with and UOORF separately. Of course with the first one you can remove the adaptor. They have different engravings from each other one is engraved with the old Leica script the other (M3 one) is engraved with the more modern Leica script. Here they are along with the ADVOO Three Leica Close-Up Attachments including ADVOO E7RBLD - Item #: 2304435
jc_braconi Posted October 23, 2011 Share #27 Posted October 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, in fact apart the engraving, they are identical so if you do not collect, you can keep the one in better cosmetic/mechanical condition. You must be able to remove both of the adaptors (push & turn)

You must be able to remove both of the adaptors (push & turn) Thanks again jc, yes the adaptors can easily be removed in both SOOKYs. BTW, as a matter of interest which one (engraving) is the most collectable? Tony
jc_braconi Posted October 24, 2011 Share #29 Posted October 24, 2011 BTW, as a matter of interest which one (engraving) is the most collectable? Tony if you want to collect you must keep the 2 versions
Twotone Posted October 24, 2011 Share #30 Posted October 24, 2011 Tony if you want to collect you must keep the 2 versions Thanks jc, bit of a conundrum then. Does that mean that you can't use any of them jc? Presumably they are worth more together than separate too?
jc_braconi Posted October 24, 2011 Share #31 Posted October 24, 2011 Thanks jc, bit of a conundrum then. Does that mean that you can't use any of them jc? Presumably they are worth more together than separate too? I use the items I collect and if I have had this opportunity I had kept the 2 versions; in my case I have only one : the condensor style (older) engraving. never seek/ found the last version. Thanks jc, you've given me food for thought though. By condensor style I presume you mean the E LEITZ one and the 'last one' being the M3 one with the Leitz scrolling script? Tony Yes the two trapezoidal shapes opposed by the bases represent, stylized, a condensor lens.
