Hey, Rolo - nice hospital pix. Some of the Rollei shots look "eye-level" rather than "waist-level". Are you a) using a prism B) using the sports finder c) shooting as in your avatar ;) or d) something else?

Thanks Andy.

Generally the shots were taken on a tripod at chest height, I'm 6' tall. Light was generally very low and poor quality from fluorescent tubes.

I'm not averse to holding a wfl camera upside down above my head with neck straining back and stood on a wall, so over 10' high, but not on this project. Here is a shot on a film set that was exactly that mode as I had to overcome a high fence:

It's also a 5 frame stitch from 120 film. Tough ! :D

Yep.

In addition to my M6TTL and M4-P I have a virtually mint Rolleiflex 3.5T (K8T2 version). Lovely piece of kit with a built-in and very accurate meter. Although it's a fixed lens, I find it very versatile, especially when I use the Rolleiparkeil 1 close-up lens kit.

My favourite film is Kodak Tri-X (I doubt I'm alone) but I also love using Ilford XP2 Super as it has superb grain and sharpness for a semi-quick film and, as it's C41, I can get it processed virtually anywhere on the High Street.

Then consider also the "RolleiMeter", it will almost turn your Rollei into a rangefinder camera. I have one, fits the 3.5, but have one, but along with most of the accessories it's for sale. (I have a "T" as well, camera I started work with, way back). Feeding my Leica M addiction.

I have two, a Rolleiflex 2.8GX 80th anniversary edition and a matching Rollei 35. I enjoy shooting with both.

Out of curiosity what are those things?

Well, SL66 has built-in tilt, built-in bellows, and reverse mountable lens. So you can go from scenery to macro to super macro, with tweaked DOF, all with the same lens and no attachments.

Also, while the CZ lens are wonderful, you can use large format lens of certain size and focal length with an adapter.

Now that I think about it, none of these features are strictly unique to SL66, but I still think how it's all packaged and accessible in a MF SLR format makes SL66 very unique.

It does weigh a ton and very conspicuous so it'll never travel like my M's, however....

I love my M's and R's, and I also own a Rolleiflex 2.8C and also a couple of 35S's. But the one I really enjoy using is my SL66. It does things no other 35mm/MF camera can do.

Yes, SL66 is a very interesting camera.

I would be one of those guys too if I could find a mint Rolleiflex for sale somewhere other than fleabay.

Pretty tough to find a 50 year old camera (often) in mint condition, but it can be done although it can add a 60% premium to the price.

I bought one off eBay UK six months ago in near mint condition. It has a small rub mark on the light meter surround, but it came with a new surround. :)

I get a lot of contact about Rolleiflex, seeking advice, because of my pics on Flickr. Some settle for less than mint condition and take the cost of a CLA into account when making their offer.

You can find mint condition in German dealer stock.

Good luck, it's a great camera.
