brill64 Posted October 1, 2011 Share #21 Â Posted October 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) peel it back enough to apply a small, pre-cut strip of thin double sided sticky tape as a temporary measure. don't use any kind of adhesive that will permanently fix it in place. that way the next time you go in for a service, it can be replaced easily
Advertisement Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Hi brill64, Take a look here Leatherette coming unglued on the M9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
CalArts 99 Posted October 1, 2011 Author Share #22 Â Posted October 1, 2011 Well, I decided to peel it all off completely. I used some red lacquer and painted the body a bright glossy red. I glued some gold rhinestones on to the right hand edge for extra grip. It looks great.
jco611 Posted October 2, 2011 Share #23 Â Posted October 2, 2011 This problem is also occuring to my M9. It is near the 'set' button. I will try the advice here if it becomes worse.
mctuomey Posted October 7, 2011 Share #24 Â Posted October 7, 2011 The black simu-vulcanite on my camera was replaced when Leica US repaired the "low battery" fault under warranty. I had not mentioned any problem with the covering, however. Leica US undertook the replacement while running the usual service checks since the camera was already in the shop, so I presume they must have discovered something not quite right. Washington Posted October 8, 2011 Share #25  Posted October 8, 2011 Superglue is awful stuff unless used with knowledge and experience in the ‘’ just right’’ situations. Jappv is right… just a wee bit of contact adhesive…. and, damn-it, read the directions on the bottle!!!!!
