tappan Posted September 21, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wanna buy the V-lux 30 for my wife but I'm disappointed that the $149.00USD voucher that I received from attending the Leica Akademie only goes toward the purchase of M or S series Leica products. I really don't need anything, any thoughts on what I should do with the voucher? Mark
Advertisement Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Hi tappan, Take a look here Leica Akademie Voucher. What shouls I buy :-)?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bocaburger Posted September 21, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2011 Does it have an expiration date, and if so, when? If it's good at least through the end of 2012 maybe put it toward an M10
StephenPatterson Posted September 21, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 21, 2011 My voucher from July 28, 2011 expires Mar. 27, 2012 so apparently it's an 8 month voucher. Strange? Perhaps I should ask Leica to recall and later re-issue my voucher, as I plan to use it against the purchase of the new 21/3.4 SEM (if it's EVER released). bpalme Posted September 21, 2011 Share #8 Posted September 21, 2011 Get a Leica M battery or something that will max out your credit and sell it.
tappan Posted September 22, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks for all the comments. It has to be a serial numbered s or M product, so buying a battery won't help :-) Also, I can't sell the voucher because the name on the new registered M or S product's warranty card has to match the name on the voucher. My only option is to buy a lens, use the voucher and then sell the lens....Hmmmm. Mark

jaapv Posted September 22, 2011 Share #11 Posted September 22, 2011 Buy an M 9 . Seriously, I get vouchers and offers like that for all kinds of things all the time. They are simply discounts on certain products, and if you don't want to buy the product just chuck the voucher in the bin. It is exactly the same as seeing a discount. sign in the window of the shop. If you don't want the discounted articles you don't go in.
StephenPatterson Posted September 22, 2011 Share #12 Posted September 22, 2011 Exactly Jaap, the voucher is just a discount, or looked at another way it's a rebate for the Leica Akademie class (mostly) if you buy one of the nice cameras or lenses you've been fortunate enough to shoot with all day. Considering what it costs to rent an M9 and Noctilux for a day this is quite a deal for someone on the fence about a purchase.
