I have found the Japan exposures 1.35x the best bet with 50mm lenses and it is perfect with a noct 0.95. Despite Jaap's disenchantments with magnifiers this one gives a nice bright image and the view is almost exactly the 50mm framelines which makes composing very easy.

It also has variable dioptre correction .... if you wear specs you will need this for close subjects as the correction for infinity is different to subjects closer than a few metres.... and with a noctilux wide open you will need all the help you can get....;)

Their 1.15 offering is optically a bit of a dog in comparison..... eye alignment is critical and its nowhere near as easy to use.

The MS-MAG x 1.35 Magnifier for Leica M from Japan Exposures

is nice but the Diopter Setting does NOT lock after you adjust it.

Using nail polish is the method they recommend you use to hold

it in place. Japan Exposures also doesn't sell this item to residents

in the USA. Japan Exposures recommends its magnifier for use on

an M8/9 when using lenses of 50mm or longer. Oh yah, the Diopter

adjustment is from -3.0 to +1.5.

It is a very well made Diopter, BTW.
