Advertisement Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Hi moldousa, Take a look here Leica R lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill Posted August 31, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 31, 2011 Angenieux of course. I vaguely remember Sigma did a couple of zooms in R mount and I know that there was a Tamron Adaptall II R mount but that's about it, I think. Regards, Bill
Michael Geschlecht Posted September 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2011 Hello moldousa, Welcome to the Forum. I just checked. Kinoptik in Paris still lists a number of lenses in Leica Reflex mount. Best Regards, Michael
moldousa Posted September 1, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted September 1, 2011 so none of the old ussr lenses will go?too bad...cause they are really cheap...but medium quality..thank's guys... btw the kinoptik are way expensive-i mean you can get a leica r mount for less money, and probably better quality... spydrxx Posted September 5, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 5, 2011 I've used a bunch of Tamron Adaptall mount lenses on R mount cameras...and several work exceptionally well. My favorites have been the 90/2.5 Macro, the 500/8 catadioptric, and the 35-80/2.8-3.8 zoom. The 70-210 (autofocus) was unwieldy, and the 80-200 zoom came nowhere near Leica's razor sharpness across the field.
mmradman Posted September 5, 2011 Share #6 Posted September 5, 2011 Leica R have one of the biggest flange to film distances in 35mm cameras (47mm) so it makes R lenses compatible with many other camera bodies but not other way round. Possible solution is to use medium format lenses via suitable adapter, suggested brands Pentax 645, 67, Mamiya, Hasselblad. Not sure what situation is in Romania but they are fairly easy to find and cheap - speaking from UK prespective. This approach of course will provide you lenses on the long end but not on the wide. Guest Randle P. McMurphy Posted September 5, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would not use other brand lenses with a brand body - why should I ? If someone needs outstanding performance buy a "R" and use R-lenses. If you dont need it you can get a much cheaper camera body from other brands.......
