Advertisement Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Hi Guest user62134, Take a look here Porsche in the pouring rain. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted August 30, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 30, 2011 Actually a nice photograph. There is just a tiny bit of underxposure, which you should try to avoid next time ... Best GEORG
Guest user62134 Posted August 30, 2011 Share #3 Posted August 30, 2011 GEORG, Thank you for your comment. If you read closely it was taken about 14 years ago and several Leica cameras since then. I know I `goofed' that day, but I keep trying. Mea Culpa! Dave
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted August 30, 2011 Share #4 Posted August 30, 2011 No problem, Dave. The rain was the reason ... I wish you many other good photoopportunities in the future. Best regards GEORG
dickgrafixstop Posted August 30, 2011 Share #5 Posted August 30, 2011 Actually, I like the slight under-exposure. Coupled with the wheel rim reflections and the overall mood of the rainy day, I think this is a very effective photograph. I'm not sure with 14 more years of experience you would improve this image that much.
stuny Posted August 30, 2011 Share #6 Posted August 30, 2011 Dave - It's worth doing post processing. This is what I quickly came up with.
Guest user62134 Posted August 30, 2011 Share #7 Posted August 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stuny, OK___I was hoping YOU would not see this. You see the younger (0-3) in a blue uniform, I have been on this web site using__hmm, nom de plume for years___and dreading the time when you viewed my pictures and say your standard line___"lovely" LOL Stuart, You have over 49K postings __and even though your younger__you know a hell of lot more about photography then I will ever know, plus I have been shooting with Leicas since about 1948! Yes ,and not a lot better in all those years. No excuses either. Actually I prefer the original posting of mine. I have it hanging on the wall for years and most pro's in photography like it also. I appreciate and and all comments, no one can ever be perfect. It was shot with film, and it was early in the morning as you can see the Sun coming up, heading home from yet another trip to China. I woke up, looked out and saw that trustworthy RR engine and just grabbed and shot. Cannot recall the F stop, I think the lens was 50mm, but perhaps a 80-200mm, just too old to recall. Yes met Moses one time years ago. Thank you so much for NOT saying "lovely" and viewing my humble picture. k_g_wolf ✝ Posted August 31, 2011 Share #8 Posted August 31, 2011 >> Dave The first photo to me shows a splendid car >>in the clouds<< which one hardly dares to look at, the second could be a photo of a proud owner who likes to show off a bit with his investment. You have to choose which impression you prefer. Cudos to stuny, I would prefer the second one. best regards GEORG
Guest user62134 Posted August 31, 2011 Share #9 Posted August 31, 2011 GEORG, I read your most recent comment, after viewing the first photo for years, I still prefer it. "in the clouds". Not as an investment. Of the Porsches I have owned, this one still is my favorite. The body style rare, the color `Arena Red' was only used two years. When I take this one out in public, without fail, I receive kind comments. Many from PCA members, (Porsche club of America). Like a proud father and this `baby' is 15 years old. Thank you for your wise and detailed comments. Always appreciated! Dave
