davidbaddley Posted August 27, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Alright, I'd probably never dare to take my M9 out into a blinding dust storm without some sort of protection, but some point-and-shoots claim to be weather-proof. I've put the DMW-LA4 tube and a filter over the lens of my D-LUX and I think it's protected pretty well, but how about the rest of the camera? Just how weather-proof is the D-LUX 4? - David

sblitz Posted August 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 27, 2011 i don't think it is very water resistant at all. that being said, if if stop working bury it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. works for cell phones, should work for the d-lux 4. jankap Posted August 27, 2011 Share #3 Posted August 27, 2011 Please look into your user manual. Chapter technical data, working conditions. Temperature 0 to 40°C Moisture 10 to 80% A much broader range than cigars! Jan
NZDavid Posted August 28, 2011 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2011 I have the D-Lux 5 which I don't believe would be any less water resistant than the D-Lux 4 and the answer is not very. I took it out in a protective case in the rain, pulled it out for a couple of shots, trying not to get it too wet, and even so the lens fogged up pretty quickly and took quite a while to dry out. I'd be wary of the taking the M9 out in inclement weather, too. No such problem with M6. Best answer may be an even more waterproof case.
