martha Posted August 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just had some fun making some infrared images with my M8.2 and a B&W 093 dark red filter. In Lightroom they have a magenta cast. What are your recommendations for removing that cast? ( I slid the "tint" slider in Develop all the way to the left.) jevidon Posted February 3, 2013 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2013 Re.: workflow, I simply click on black & white image in the image>adjustment drop down menu in CS5 and then touch it up with contrast a little. If the image is slightly soft because you didn't adjust for IR focus exactly, try high pass filter sharpening and then adjust the slider down to about 20-25 and then flatten the image and save. If you don't like the slight amount of noise, you can reduce it, but only do it a little bit before you do the sharpening. Perfection! I also tried using NIK Silver Efex Pro, which did the job, but the above method gives a cleaner image, at least in infrared. My M8 setting are RAW, ISO 320, EV - 1/3, WB=2000K. I've been using the Hoya R72 filter with my 35mm Nokton f1.2, but I have a 39mm B+W 092 on order for my Leica glass. I shoot at 1/30 sec for hand holding in bright sunlight and bracket the aperture from f8 to f16 and then pick the best for printing, depending how I want my shadows and highlights to look. Drag the curve up in the area.most affected. If slight, click on a point on the curve and gently tap with the up or down arrow until,balanced.
