Two weeks ago my Digilux 2 suddenly stopped working, on a trip to Antwerp it wouldn't startup anymore.

Messages on the forum said the main-ciruitboard had to be replaced.

I've mailed customerservice in Solms twice but no one is answering any mail.

The question of course is if its worth sending the camera to Solms and having it repaired.

I live in Holland.

btw love the "distinctive" look compared to my Nikon dslr gear.

So what to do ?

Thanks for any advice

Charles

Telephone Customer Services in Solms and ask their advice regarding timing.

Don't forget that August is the worst time for holidays and indeed, the factory and many of the CS staff may be on leave at the moment.

Lots of European factories do close for a couple of weeks "en masse" during the summer. It used to be very common in the UK - when we had factories...

A quick call to Customer Services might provide you with the answer.

When I was a student in Stoke-on-Trent in the seventies, the whole city closed down on the last week in June and the first week in July and then for a further week in August. It was called "Potters' Holidays". Everyone left for Llandudno. The whole place was almost deserted!

I believe that Solms is on holiday at the moment. However I understand that in order to keep some production going, the factory still has some shifts working. CS may well be another matter, but there should be someone there to cover the phones at least.
