koiroy Posted August 6, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just noticed an lens adapter to use with a M8 for using a few R lenses on EBay. Has anyone had success with this? The product is nonreturnable so I would like some conformation from someone that has success with this adapter. I would appreciate any response. Advertisement Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Hi koiroy, Take a look here Leica M8 lens adapter for R lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
doubice Posted August 7, 2011 Share #2 Posted August 7, 2011 It is only useful for wideangle lenses, as those have good depth of field to allow for focusing errors - the adapter does not allow rangefinder focusing. I would not use it for anything longer than 28mm and would be very careful when setting the distance. Leica used to make a similar adapter (code 22228), it was meant for R lenses to be used on a Leicina Special - a super 8 movie camera. There, focusing was done through the movie camera's finder. Telyt2003 Posted August 7, 2011 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2011 Such an adapter can be used for ... ... as said, for (extreme) wide R-lenses of the M. ... and for macro (at-a-distance) on most M-cameras with Visoflex2/3 and R-lenses (in general), even combined with R-extenders (please see here, sorry, in German). Telyt2003 PS: Novoflex offers also such an adapter (easier to get then the rare 22228 from Leitz)
