EJohnE Posted September 10, 2011 Share #21 Posted September 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) The forum is sometimes slow, so I just press the escape key, and try again later. A more irritating thing for me, is that I often have to log in every few minutes, even though my name may still showing. Perhaps the moderators are tactfully telling me something? John. Advertisement Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Hi EJohnE, Take a look here Is the forum slow today.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erl Posted September 10, 2011 Share #22 Posted September 10, 2011 I find the forum regularly slow also, each morning when I log on. I suspect that is the local time that the forum backup is running, but I don't really know. When you log on, tick the checkbox that says 'Remember me'. That should save you repeatedly logging on. I use Firefox and it gives me a facility to remember my passwords. I think Opera has similar. That way I don't have hassles repeatedly logging on. Hope that helps. If you continue to have trouble, send a PM to Andreas ('admin'). He will advise you better than I can.
EJohnE Posted September 11, 2011 Share #23 Posted September 11, 2011 Thank you. I have always been a bit paranoid about "remember.......... ", but with your number of posts not enticing nefarious rogues, I may as well do as you suggest. Regards from Queensland. John.

If I don't browse for a while - I need to log in again.

Thanks Jaap - I use Firefox or Safari (Mac) - I've looked at preferences and cannot see anything that jumps of the screen at me - just changed to Safari and will see if this times out. (different settings).
