ThangNguyen Posted August 5, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted August 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I bought a used Leica bag which is similar to this: Â Â The problem is I confused about the inner badding. It's divided into 3 lots. The first lot is separated by 1 tall hard material part which is cover by thin cushion. Then the second lot is really thin which has the size can fit the body of the Leica only. Then this lot separated with the last one by a low soft cushion. Sorry I don't know how to describe it well enough. I don't know how to put my camera in the right way. If you have a similar bag, please show me how you put your camera in. Â Thank you so much! azzo Posted August 5, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted August 5, 2011 Are the cushioned partitions adjustable? .. Â If yes, adjust one partition for camera and lens and leave the other spaces for your other stuff. Â The important thing is, ''not to knock against each other your equipment''. jaapv Posted August 5, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted August 5, 2011 Very nice in that color, most are black : Â The camera goes in vertically in the middle part with a small to medium lens on. The other sections are for lenses (smaller ones with coupling rings), flash, batteries, etc. The M8/9 are a very tight fit as they are slightly larger than the film Ms that the bag was designed for, but if you force them in once or twice, the bag will expand a it. ThangNguyen Posted August 5, 2011 Author Share #4 Â Posted August 5, 2011 Hi, The problem is they are unadjustable I tried to do put the camera in the middle but it's too tie. I am worry that this will make the body wear out soon. And the side on the top touch the cover.

jaapv Posted August 5, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted August 5, 2011 Well, just give a decent shove and it will go in. I have been putting the camera in for years without worrying, it is not made of glass in my way of thinking, but then I don't mind a bit of brassing. Â I would love to have a nice tan case like that. jpattison Posted August 5, 2011 Share #9  Posted August 5, 2011 ThangNguyen, I'm assuming you have a Digital M? These bags were designed for the slimmer, and slightly shorter M6 series. This is likely to be your problem.  Try Fogg Bags, or the Billingham Hadley Pro......  Fogg Specialist Bags - photographic bags and camera cases  Hadley Camera Bags - Billingham  John
jaapv Posted August 5, 2011 Share #10  Posted August 5, 2011 Very nice color! Too bad Leica bags are... blah  I must be doing something wrong - I have been using both the Kombitashe Gross and Klein for years now and have not been able to discover any umm...blah...  Yes, the M8/9 are a bit tight compared to a film M, but the bags will take them all right. Â Find something about 1cm wider than the M9 (an old camera, a hard book or a wood box maybe), stuff it in and leave it there for a week. It should stretch the partitions enough permanently that the M9 should slip in and out easily from then on. I wouldn't worry about the bag's top. wda Posted August 5, 2011 Share #12 Â Posted August 5, 2011 Seriously, I think you are wasting your time trying to squeeze a camera into a cavity which wasn't designed for it. Why not just get one of many bags recommended my members in Leica Bag threads?
ThangNguyen Posted August 6, 2011 Author Share #13 Â Posted August 6, 2011 I am sorry make you confuse but I am using M6 TTL. Maybe I think it's too tide but the main issue is when I put the camera in, the upper side of the camera almost touch the top cover of the bag. I wonder if I put it right? Can't customize them, the padding is average (nothing to write home about) and the stitches aren't that great ether.. Stick a big red logo on it and you got the perfect 'steal me' bag.  They sure look great thouh!

The M6 is about 5mm taller and 4mm longer than the M3. That small difference could cause problems in using a case designed for the M2/M3.
jaapv Posted August 9, 2011 Share #16 Â Posted August 9, 2011 David, you should measure again. The M6 has exactly the same dimensions as the M3, the M6 TTL is 3 mm higher, that is all.
