Just so you hear all sides: I thought the original version looked lovely – & see the revised edition as too 'pumped up,' as are so many images on the web. Don't be afraid to stay with the gentler palette?

That's the way I see it also.

#2 is more dramatic, but #1 seems to me more accurate. (don't ask to explain that)

Thank you all. Depending on what screen I use I too like either version better. This poses a dilemma, LOL. That aside, my main interest in this photo was to capture something of my favorite aunt's character and spirit - even as she fast approaches a full century of life.

A lovely story, Wilfredo and an equally lovely old lady!

 

Sometimes a softer toned rendering is more appropriate for such subjects, as in your first picture. Because of the medium, we do tend to prefer a little more life in pictures viewed on our monitors. Both have their places in presentation.
