gyoung Posted June 7, 2007 Share #21 Posted June 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) FWIW I have the black paint version of the 35/F2 ASPH and it came with the circular vented hood (in black paint). The code on this hood is 12452. I'm not keen on it and swapped it for the regular plastic hood (12526). Thanks there is one on ebay now, $5.50 (!) at the moment with nearly a week to go, that item says the normal black version is 12504, two of those on ebay for $75 and $149 (!!!! ) Gerry

Nick De Marco Posted June 7, 2007 Share #22 Posted June 7, 2007 I bought one to take with me on my latest trip to cambodi a couple of weks ago - a rubber cap for the hood for the 35mm pre-aspherical which i gues is the same thing. After 2 days shooting i lost mine to. one of the only things i lost on the trip. Irritating as it cost about £20 from a leica dealer in london. bad design or what? I lost the replacement cover I bought and paid $21 for just two months ago; worse, I lost the little flat, black, plastic hard cover too!!! This is serious money Chez Brewer these days! Thanks. rob_x2004 Posted June 10, 2007 Share #24 Posted June 10, 2007 Allan, run with the sheep or try http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/customer-forum/22886-lens-cap-summilux-75mm-when-ir.html For what it is worth it eats having a cap. Faster, more convenient. Also protects the lens from dust and grime. Great on those days when you are out photographing from the back of a motorbike in a third world country when sandblasting is an issue when you are underway on the dusty roads.
