Studio58 Posted July 30, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Connected M9 via USB. Computer imported 77 out of 233 and refused to go any further. Camera in fact was dead and battery re-insertion required to restart. Could it be that the card had a mix of M8/M9 files ? Changed to the M8... lots of red light flashing but not much import action. May have to revert to card reader which is my normal method anyhow.... Why doesn't stuff just work like it is supposed to ? jlindstrom Posted July 30, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 30, 2011 I don't think such exist, at least not yet. Thunderbolt is such emerging technology.. it's hard enough to find hard drives to support it. Also, technology wise it's good but most likely usb 3.0 will be more popular. Suppose the popularity of Thunderbolt could be similar or just less than firewire. Even firewire 800 didn't get the popularity it deserved. Also, it's hard enough to even find card reader to support SD-card and firewire. To date I haven't found one easily available, so I guess one shouldn't hold their breath for a Thunderbolt one.. //Juha Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

From what I have heard devices will appear around the end of this year. Also I understand that Thunderbolt will blitz the peripheral devices field. These days when I shoot a wedding, I create up to 2,500 images. Now that of course has been using Canon gear. Now that I have switched to Leica RF clearly that number will decrease significantly, there will however be a large number of files to work with. The quicker I can get those on my machine the better. Have been using a USB card reader for my CF cards for years (never having owned SD cards). Anyhow , did not even know it had that slot. Just having a go now and it works perfectly....:D:D. Thanks.
