bhonhoff Posted July 25, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Last December I brought an BOOWU for my Leica IIIc. There was no manual included and my Leica books do not give much information either. To use it for example for A4, do I need to focus the lens on Infinity or 1 meter? (I love to take the Leica IIIc everywhere I go and the Nooky is not good for all situations.)

UliWer Posted July 25, 2011 Share #3 Posted July 25, 2011 In all positions of the Boowu the lens is used at infinity.

lars_bergquist Posted July 26, 2011 Share #5 Posted July 26, 2011 It cannot be used but at infinity, for the lens is attached by its internal bayonet lugs, not by the regular mounting thread. So there is no focusing by the helical – the BOOWU offers only three standard reproduction sizes, A4, A5 and A6. There is also a BOOWU-M which is the same except for the camera attachement (by M bayonet, natch). So this rig like the LTM version can only use collapsible 50mm lenses, in the case of the BOOWU-M the 59mm Elmar 3.5, the 50mm Elmar 2.8 and the collapsible Summicron. By far the best to use is the 2.8 Elmar. The old man from the Age of the NOOKY
