bluebear Posted July 23, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted July 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, I knew the X1 was an amazing camera, but this is ridiculous! I have only had mine a week or so and have so far only taken a handful of test shots. I just got back from walking my (photogenic!) dog, who posed nicely for me in a corn field. I have never taken any photographic so sharp in my life on any camera!! The focus may be a little bit slow, but boy is is it spot on! This is an out of camera jpeg, cropped and sharpened slightly in Elements. (The low resolution for the web doesn't do it justice) Â I am simply blown away by the IQ! wda Posted July 23, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted July 23, 2011 A pleasing first shot, bluebear. Handled sensibly and thoughtfully, the X1 is a highly capable camera as you are discovering. Enjoy!
magnolio Posted July 23, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted July 23, 2011 A very pleasant shot. I know tou are going to love this camera more and more, most of all if you have got the new firmware. I have mine since 4 months, and I never had any trouble of any sort. Many joys, yes. Never owned such a camera, and Lightroom allows wonders as well. phancj Posted July 24, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted July 24, 2011 Yup, IMO the X1 is THE photographer's compact at least up till today. Â The IQ/size ratio is simply astounding. After one and a half years of owning it nothing has come its way offering the same. Â I bought it for a fun travel camera but it has become so much more used than I ever would have thought. pop Posted July 24, 2011 Share #7  Posted July 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Corn is the name used in the United States, Canada, and Australia for the grain maize. In much of the world, the term "corn" is a generic term for local cereal crops, such as Wheat, Barley, Oats  I agree - the picture of the dog in the field exhibits a really nice IQ. bluebear Posted July 24, 2011 Author Share #8  Posted July 24, 2011 . but is that the edge of a dirty corn field? because that looks like wheat to me.  Actually, it's barley (although I'm no expert). I used the term "corn" as my dog is called Flake (after Cadbury's flake - a chocolate bar - ) so the image makes him a Corn Flake...!
