k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 18, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 18, 2011 Could the creature be shot by "farmer" and then left ? A fox normally knows what he does, when climbing up. A disturbing photograph indeed, a well captured scene from a deathzone. Best GEORG
Ivan Muller Posted July 18, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted July 18, 2011 Thanks for the kind comments, Stuart & Albert...... George, the fox was indeed shot by a farmer and left on the fence......
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 18, 2011 Share #6 Posted July 18, 2011 Now I realized, that this photo was taken in the RSA, Ivan, that explains a lot. I´am glad, I do not have to live as a fox round there. Hope they treat their human beings differently. I used to work as a volunteer in the South of Africa, but this was quite a while ago. And a bit north of this area. The farmers then were even worse. Ivan Muller Posted July 18, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted July 18, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi George, As always there are two - or more - sides to a story. We have to find a balance between the needs of wild animals and the protection of the farmers live stock...... and thankfully its not a call I have to make.......but the sight of a beautiful animal hanging dead on a farm fence is never pretty..... pauledell Posted July 18, 2011 Share #8 Posted July 18, 2011 Ivan, Photographically this is a fine picture. Maybe its disturbing but it is reality. Paul
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 18, 2011 Share #9 Posted July 18, 2011 >> Ivan Life is all about two or more views of a certain aspect and very often - unfortunately - intellingence and political correctness doesn´t rule but guns and other powers. You and your camera were a witness of what happened to a creature which hardly had a chance. In our area the guy could be sued (under cartain circumstances) and taken to court. Don´t mind the way it´s round here. Best GEORG
daveleo Posted July 21, 2011 Share #10 Posted July 21, 2011 photographically excellent, but of course it always disturbs me to see an abandoned killed animal (killing to eat is different). nonetheless a striking image, and I could see it used in a serious discussion of the topic(s). azzo Posted July 21, 2011 Share #11 Posted July 21, 2011 I can understand why farmers do this, kill animals to safeguard their crop .... what I don't understand is, why would they leave the poor thing hanging like that. .. Not a happy sight at all IMO. Regarding the image Ivan, it is excellently captured, no doubt.
