Good day to you all. Im looking for good used camera equipment web-stores. I already know of B&H and Adorama. Can anyone suggest others. Thanks, Henry

I'd second KEH for both reliability and reasonableness. Also, although not a "store" per se, but a place to consider buying...Ebay (with all the appropriate cautions which I will not go into here)

Camera West: Fine New & Used Photo Equipment from Camera West - Walnut Creek & Rancho Mirage, CA - look under "Used Products" they have an excellent section.

Kevin Cameras: KevinCameras - his product descriptions are very thorough.

Ken Hanson Photographic: Ken Hansen Photographic items - Get great deals on Category 1, Category 2 items on eBay Stores! - he can help you find what you want if you email him at khpny19@aol.com.

Also look on the equipment for sale forums here and elsewhere.

All that said, I have used KEH, usually BGN (bargain) grade, with great success for what I want, and I have purchased a like-new lens from a forum member here for a very good price.

When KEH describes condition as EX you can expect it to look almost new.

I got a Leica SF 24D flash from them marked EX, and it was still in the original, sealed packaging. The only thing to make it other than new was that the battery had been removed from the packing.

One tip - if you buy an M7 or other bodies that had unmarked updates, it's good to become informed (ask here) and then ask KEH exactly which model they are selling.

Another source I would definitely suggest is Sherry Krauter Sherry Krauter.com -- Home of the Golden Touch. I've a pair of sequential serial numbered M4s to have her CLA and I'm looking forward to using them afterwards.

Igor's Camera -- Cleveland, USA

George Ury -- Chicago, USA

My experience with KEH has been disappointing.

Adorama appears to have gotten better in the last year or so.

B&H is good.

Ebay -- although figure in repairs. For every great find I've gotten on that auction, and there's been a few; there's also been a "buyer beware" situation.

The classifieds here, and on the rangefinder forum, although prices tend to be a little steep.

Bergan County camera in NJ, USA.

New Old Camera looks very good, and they're very polite and prompt over the internet, but unfortunately (or fortunately) they don't ship to my part of the world.

There are a few other high end shops (e.g., Leica Shop in Vienna).

After a year or so of gear acquisition, I've come to the conclusion that it's better to pay up and get a warranty with return privileges from a place whose ratings are both conservative and consistent.
