Delfi_r Posted July 18, 2011 Share #23 Â Posted July 18, 2011 Delfi, Yes, if you use a step-up ring from 41 mm to some size more common you will have no trouble finding whatever you need, Oddly I found an excellent 41mm metal lens hood on eBay awhile back which takes a generic (or Canon) clip in cover. Really nice! Â I have found dealer that has all B+W catalog, even if there are some delays, so their 41 mm filter will be available soon. Â I'll search fo the 41 mm lens hood... perhaps there is one somewhere in the net now.

Delfi_r Posted July 19, 2011 Share #25 Â Posted July 19, 2011 Cameraquest has one 41 mm metal lens hood and B+H has 41 mm filters, even one IR+UV. There is life for the old and beautiful Summarit 50 mm f:1,5, even if it has flare problems and suffers from astigmatism. I love it!
Washington Posted July 19, 2011 Share #26  Posted July 19, 2011 Delf_r Glad you like your old girl! On flair: if you are taking a picture that has a good chance of adding flair: focus and get all set… then shoot the photo one handed while holding something in the other hand to block the light source. I know this is impractical for many shots, but it something to try under the right conditions.
SteveYork Posted July 21, 2011 Share #27 Â Posted July 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) M lenses have gone through the roof these last couple years. Makes me wish I stocked up during the sad days of circa. 2005. Instead, I sold one. But now I may sale a few more, because the prices the old lenses demand are beyond reasonable.
