Jamie Roberts Posted July 12, 2011 Share #2 Posted July 12, 2011 What's the crop factor on this? 1.5x again?
Matus Kalisky Posted July 12, 2011 Share #3 Posted July 12, 2011 Yes - the sensor is APS-C size. I can hardly imagine that anything bigger would fit the rather small GXR body ...
eleskin Posted July 12, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 12, 2011 This is not full frame, but if the idea becomes more popular as I believe it will, we will soon see full frame cameras we can customize by adding any component we like so the camera fits our exact style and taste. A superior concept. Here, lenses will become more popular in that you will get pro results using the exact lens and body you need to achieve the "look" you want in an image. Gone would be a world of being married to one manufacturer or system. I am very excited in that we are witnessing even more ways Leica M mount lenses can be used to unleash unlimited creativity. Leica may become more important as a lens maker more than a camera maker. For me, it was only about the lenses in the first place. One thig here. More camera options for Leica glass WILL increase their value. Used lens prices will go up!
Dan States Posted July 13, 2011 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2011 If they can get the right amount of microlens correction on the sensor they have something here. Otherwise it's just another angle on the NEX...lousy in the corners with wide angle M lenses. Looks promising.
