pico Posted July 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is the same as using the unsharp mask, but in reverse. Sample: http://www.digoliardi.net/jk.jpg The original was sharp. Note how some parts still are sharp. For example the subject's glasses and his VW Bug in the mid-ground but nothing else in the mid-ground. Copy layer to new layer Desaturate the new layer Adjust-invert (this is the part that makes it soften rather than sharpen) Make the mode 'overlay' Now take Filter-other-High Pass Play with the slider until you have the softness you wish. jaapv Posted July 11, 2011 Share #2 Posted July 11, 2011 How about smearing a filter with Vaseline?
pico Posted July 11, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted July 11, 2011 How about smearing a filter with Vaseline? It doesn't do quite the same thing, for example opening shadows with the reverse step. For real unsharp and curious work I use Imagons on LF.
