stuny Posted February 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Clan wars between neighboring clans in PNG are fairly frequent to this day. If somebody is killed there must be reparation. Reparation in the central highlands can be in the form of either a negotiated number pigs, or the killing of the killer by somebody close to the one killed (was that clear?). We were on our way to see the mourning rite of a recent widow whose husband was killed by the son of the man her husband killed. This adorable child was standing on an embankment about 500 meters before we arrived at the widow’s home. You can see the widow on the 3rd page of Papua New Guinea photo galleries on our site. robert_parker Posted February 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 8, 2007 Stuart I like the colours (glad you weren't tempted to desaturate) and the pattern of the leaves, which add to the composition nicely - you've reminded me that I've been working on the idea of foliage backgrounds for a while and I might try to post some !!
