SDHC on M8

I know that you are not supposed to use an SDHC card to upgrade the firmware on an M8 but can you use an SDHC card for photos? If so, is there any advantage to using a Class 10 card? (I don't take photos in rapid succession. I'm very slow and deliberate.)

I was actually looking for plain old SD cards and there don't seem to be many around.

I used an SDHC Sandisk Ultra 4GB card to upgrade the firmware without any issues.

The previous owner had a Sandisk 4GB Extreme card (Class 6) 20mb a second, and writing the files to the SD card was faster compared to my Sandisk Ultra 4GB which is 15mb a second.

Don't know how far you could go though.

That is only if the camera has the old firmware that was not SDHC-enabled. Obviously you cannot update to the newer SDHC capable firmware using a card the camera cannot read yet. Now, with the newer firware versions, it is not an issue.

Leica persist in only specifying an SD card for updates and also list the recent update for the M8, no mention of the M8.2 which has cause some of a nervous disposition to worry.

The attention to detail is lacking, probably making another 1500 M9P to follow the 1500 the say they have sold.On this page:-
