I like them both (but only the first version of #2). #1 is full of action, strong light, cold tone and high contrast vs. the almost painted scene, warm toned#2 -- rather static, and stronger for it, giving it a surreal look. Both excellent. I wouldn't change a thing about #2, but #1 MIGHT be a touch over sharpened, unless this is purely the effect of the harsh light and strong contrast.

peter, I think that I should have removed the orange filter, the light was already contrasty, late afternoon, and the orange filter just overdid things. Ah well c'est la vie!!:rolleyes:

One thing though, we are constantly told the CL's r/f isn't up to focussing lanses like the Nokton, I have close up shots with this combination taken at wideish apertures which show that with care , it is!!
