Advertisement Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Hi svenning, Take a look here Soft picture....... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leicamann Posted February 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2007 Svenning, the color is great but the focus as you say is soft...pushing this 35mm to it limit:) Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann
stuny Posted February 8, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 8, 2007 Svenning - Almost. I think the closest flower needs to be just a touch less soft, giving an anchor point for the photo. Alternatively, I wonder how it would look a bit softer still.
jonathangraham Posted February 8, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 8, 2007 Svenning- Agree with most of the above. You 'almost' made it. I tried some PS actions on it and the picture was difficult to revive. Oh well, they aren't all keepers. Perhaps more selective lighting on the foreground and about f4-5.6 would have worked? svenning Posted February 10, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted February 10, 2007 Dear Jonathan Graham, Here is a picture shot @ F/5.6 - the 35mm Summicron might not be the best suited lens to shoot flower pictures with - however with a crop factor of 1.6 on the Canon 350D the view of the lens becomes a 56mm. Anyway - thank you for your kind advise :-)) All the best - Svenning, Denmark

svenning Posted February 12, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted February 12, 2007 Dear stephanie borrell, My wife also liked the softer F/2.0 flower picture better - maybe a female way of looking at flower pictures? I do not know - anyway - I need to improve my skills on taking flower pictures :-)) All the best - Svenning, Denmark
imported_peter_m Posted February 12, 2007 Share #10 Posted February 12, 2007 Hi Svenning, I prefer the first one for its soft artistic look, the second one is more technically correct. Peter
