Noise when focussing

Today, my X1 finally arrived. I have been playing with it all day. Great camera.

There is one thing however. When I focus the camera makes a strange noise as if it has trouble focussing. I heared other camera's making the same kind of noise when they can't lock on the subject, especially in low light. My Leica however makes this noise everytime it focusses. Also in bright light condition when it focusses fast. It sounds like a cracking noise.

Is this normal or do I need to go back to the store?

Thanks for your comments.

Wim.

Try to remove the battery, it will help to avoid the sound.

;)

Seriously: Usually there will always be kind of a "normal", buzzing AF-motor-sound. If something sounds "cracking" there might be a problem. Show it to somebody at a Leica shop.

Soma noise is normal. Cracking sound isn't what I would describe mine. I would describe mine more like a cats purr motor
