I popped out the day after it arrived and snapped a few test shots. Here's the first one I took... The Artist | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I also recently ordered one but haven't received it yet. and was curious what others can do with this lens. So far, the above image is the best of its usage in creative sense IMHO. It has lovely tone and mood, enjoy..:):)

Hi, All

I saw one in mint conditions at 160 euro plus shipping at Leica Shop dot com . but thought it's very expensive.

Like myself, if anyone interested in buying it, I ordered one from this ebay seller. (Avenon Pin Hole Lens For Leica M Cameras | eBay UK) The price seems very reasonable too IMHO. I paid $ 139.00 plus shipping. The seller also claims it's brand new ;)

P.S. I do not personally know any of above linked sellers. I'm sharing informations that I found from my hours hours searching.

Understandably, I guess, the images produced are pretty Marmite; some love the effect, others hate it.

I like how the lack of sharpness creates a similar effect to that of when viewing a painting; your brain has to fill the gaps - and it's quite engaging because of that.

What I've quickly realised, though, is that it demands a strong composition to work. Hopefully using the PH Air on a regular basis will improve my skills.

Here's another from the first walk out... Jog On | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I like this effect, also it demonstrates that at f/128 or whatever diffraction becomes a limiting factor while focussing is totally unnecessary (infinite depth of field).

EDIT: Is the avenon a true pinhole or a phase plate? I still need to start experimenting with that. Should be a nice weekend project.

The Avenon a bayonet mounted pinhole (cut by laser) with a screw in glass 'filter' to prevent dust ingress. I had read somewhere there are adapters out there to change its effective focal length, but... blowed if I can find them.
