menos I M6 Posted July 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I had my bag packed this morning, I remembered comments (and even outragious mails ) about my comment, that the beautifully made Artisan and Artist ACAM-7100 would be impossible, to hold a computer AND a camera. Well, as I commented earlier and seen here, this happens, just to be my daily working bag, which happens, to hold this Today: "7.4kg - closed" on flickr "7.4kg - inside" on flickr … more gritty details about exactly, what's inside my bag in Today's blog post on teknopunk.com Can you find the hidden item ? The bag has not been deliberately packed, to demonstrate, how much it could swallow, but indeed has happened, to just have this stuff inside Today: M8.2 + Noctilux as my long time favorite camera / lens combo (seldom leave the house without) M9 + 35 Summaron LTM as Today's 35mm alternative (love that tiny Summaron!) MP + 50 Collapsible Summicron-M for testing out the new lens, had it yesterday on the M9 for testing, which was moot, as the f2 Cron and slow ISO2500 M9 is just not good enough for low light ;-) I packed TX400 @3200 instead Today and will see, where it's heading The hidden item is in for finding a spare part, should I happen, to find time, to browse the camera markets Today - it's tiny, but heavy though. Advertisement Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Hi menos I M6, Take a look here bags, that are small and weight 7.4kg. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Manolo Laguillo Posted July 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted July 1, 2011 I own the A&A ACAM 7100, and I agree with you, it's perfectly possible to transport 3 bodies + 3 lenses (one lens per body) in it, but... how can you insert the 15'' macbook at the rear? I have the macbook AIR 11'' and I would not put this even smaller computer there !

I have the macbook AIR 11'' and I would not put this even smaller computer there ! Manolo, the MacBook Air would be the perfect computer, to exchange for the 15" MBP for this bag! Have a look at my site here, to see, how it all fits in. Unfortunately the LUF forum rules forbid me, to post a direct image from my site . It looks like a tight squeeze, but it is actually not, as everything slides naturally in and out (i use this bag that way already for almost a year on a daily basis. If the orange divider would be 2cm less deep, it would even be a perfect fit. I would use your MBAir in a neoprene wrap and just slide it in. It all depends, how you pack the camera bodies too (have them direct their lenses along the long side of the bag). If Apple now would only offer a matte high res (1440x900) screen option for the 13" MBP, I would RUN for the next shop, this would be THE ideal computer size/ power for me. I only keep the old 15" so far for it's much better screen and compact form factor (it is indeed less bulky than the new 15" models). This all is not my shooting bag! It is a daily office bag for transportation. If I intend, to go out and take photographs, the computer is left out and further weight is reduced, by not choosing THREE heavy brass LTM lenses, to carry along It would be interesting, to see pictures of other user's bags with the total weight mentioned. chris_tribble Posted July 2, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted this some time ago. Haven't got the bag with me at the moment so can't check the exact weight, but this is my typical "working" kit when I need to take a comprehensive kit to cover an event. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/107307-perfect-travel-kit-6.html#post1491160 A lot easier to carry than the Canon + equivalent range line up. bill Posted July 2, 2011 Share #5 Posted July 2, 2011 Clearly I have a different definition of "small"... When I mentally translated 7.4kg into English and came to over 16 lbs - more than a stone - I nearly fell off my chair. You may as well carry a DSLR as that lot. Small to me means my II and a 35 and 50mm - both lenses fit in a spectacles case, and the body with either lens attached in a leather belt pouch meant for a Minilux Zoom. I would never, ever carry that much kit in one go. At most I might take 2 M bodies, 3-4 lenses and a digital PHD for happy snaps and handing to waiters. epand56 Posted July 2, 2011 Share #6 Posted July 2, 2011 I've been using this bag in the last two months and find it extremely comfortable. Happy to know I can sometimes carry my Mac Book Air in it as well
menos I M6 Posted July 3, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted July 3, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Clearly I have a different definition of "small"... When I mentally translated 7.4kg into English and came to over 16 lbs - more than a stone - I nearly fell off my chair. Well, as written, the title of the thread is: "bags, that are small and weight 7.4kg" You may as well carry a DSLR as that lot. I would certainly raise bulk and especially weight with the selection of bodies and lenses ;-) I would never, ever carry that much kit in one go. At most I might take 2 M bodies, 3-4 lenses and a digital PHD for happy snaps and handing to waiters. Which is exactly, what is inside the described bag @ 7.4kg 2 M bodies, 4 lenses and instead of the "digital PHD" one additional M body without lens The only thing, making this bag so heavy fully packed is the fact, that a computer is added, and that two of the lenses are slightly heavier than the average compact, slow M lens. As stated, this is not my shooting bag, although I go with a similar bag minus computer and proper fitting lens selection for serious photography. The idea for the thread was born, when I saw my packed bag for the day that morning and remembered a user here, fiercely negating, that I use this very bag and fitting a 15" MBP inside, where this is actually daily practice for the better part of a year.
