ho_co Posted June 29, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2011 The filter is usually an addition to the lens added by the purchaser. Its main purpose is lens protection, that is, cases like this. It should just unscrew, and you should be able to screw another filter on. Occasionally, the knock that broke the filter also dents the filter thread, so that may need straightening in order to replace the filter on the lens. Welcome to the forum! Sorry for the problem.
