Virginia Bill Posted June 23, 2011 Share #23 Posted June 23, 2011 Among all the so-called polls here, most of them highly flawed, there has not been one in which was asked, "What Leicas(s) to you use now and are you happy enough with the models to ignore the advances in Leica's current effort?" M8 (35 and 50 Summicrons), bought two weeks ago. Very happy with it. If I win the lottery I'll buy an M9. Otherwise, my money will go to lenses. So I ask: Are you a Leica film user? [yes,no] Not any more. Are you a Leica user that uses film and digital? [yes,no,depends] No. Are you a Leica film user who would like to try digital Leicas? [yes,no] No. If you are a film user who wants to try digital what keeps you from doing it? [expense, insecurity - obsolescence of digital paradigm or something else?} Are you a Leica user who has never used film [yes,no] No. Once upon a time, long ago, I used an M3. But I had to switch to autofocus lenses as my eyes aged, so the M3 (and a IIIf) went onto the shelf. After I switched to a digital slr, I sold all my film gear including the Leicas (stupid move). Age and gender. 68, male.
