carstenw Posted February 6, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted February 6, 2007 At the moment, black M8s are out of stock, and the chrome ones are back-ordered. Why the difference, I have no clue.
DaveEP Posted February 6, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted February 6, 2007 Maybe the difference is they have orders for one and not the other
Shootist Posted February 6, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted February 6, 2007 At the moment, black M8s are out of stock, and the chrome ones are back-ordered. Why the difference, I have no clue. Â I would think the blacks and silvers are made at different times or different production runs. Since all cameras were recalled to have the fix done I suspect there was both silver and black being shipped at about the same time begining in early January but those are probably already gone and now we are into the newer production runs. I come to that conclusion because I got a silver one with a serial of 3100977 in the middle of January. I think my silver M8 was from the first series of cameras to be produced and got sent back for the fix before it ever got into the retail market. Â As for them being out of stock when you checked and posted, well they don't seem to last long in any store. Â Oh the reason for one to be listed as either in stock or out of stock or back ordered is when B&H gets some they get listed as In Stock, when they sell out of that color they list them as out of stock and when they don't have any and don't know when they will see any of either color they list them as Back Ordered. If you check there site later today or tomorrow the black M8's will be listed as Back Ordered.

stevem7 Posted February 7, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted February 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I ordered one this morning from Photo Village and then my wife called and said she ordered me one from BH! B&H charged the card, Photo Vilage did not so I had to cancel that one. In any case, my M8 has shipped with extra battery from BH and will be here tomorrow! MarcRochkind Posted February 7, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted February 7, 2007 I don't think it matters all that much any more whether M8s are showing in stock or not. I ordered an out-of-stock black M8 from Adorama about 10 days ago and got it in a week. Â --Marc Rochkind
