jplomley Posted July 3, 2011 Author Share #21 Posted July 3, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for the feedback emaxxx. All images were processed in LR3 and exported to CS5 for further work-up, which often involves a trip to lab space for color adjustments. For those that I've printed, Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl is my media of choice. My standard print size for S2 files is 20x30, but 30x40 is handled without difficulty at an image resolution of 180 ppi. I do use C1v6 for my M9 work because of the LCC functionality and ability to eliminate Moire. My M9 is dedicated to street photography and social documentary where oftentimes synthetic fabrics can be a nuisance.
Advertisement Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Hi jplomley, Take a look here Waiting for the 24mm Lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Scott Tansey Posted July 3, 2011 Share #22 Posted July 3, 2011 Jeff, All I need to show my work is to learn how to reduce the size of my images and post my images like Kurt or create my own website. I have been using my S2 almost all the time for the past year. As said earlier, the camera is an absolute delight to use. Scott
jplomley Posted July 3, 2011 Author Share #23 Posted July 3, 2011 Cheers Scott. I then look forward to seeing your work in the future. ONP is a very special place and I never tire of looking at imagery from that magic location.
Scott Tansey Posted July 3, 2011 Share #24 Posted July 3, 2011 Jeff, Olympic National Park is a special place. I went up to Hurricane Ridge for sunrise, and I was lucky that some of the fog lifted. However, when it came to photographing the rain forests, I had unusually sunny weather which made photographing the forest difficult because of the high contrast. Maybe that was why I used the 120 mm lens. I probably would have used the wide angle if it was more cloudy and less contrasty. Scott
jplomley Posted July 3, 2011 Author Share #25 Posted July 3, 2011 That must have been frustrating Scott. By the same token, when I was there for two weeks, never saw the sun once, so was not able to capture any sunsets at the wilderness beaches. Very annoying. hoppyman Posted July 4, 2011 Share #26 Posted July 4, 2011 Jeff I guess it doesn't add any info on the release and availability for you but I had a little grin at what I thought were quite candid comments from Stephan Schulz (LFI 7/2010) In that article he was discussing the introduction of a 24mm and a 30mm. Schulz " Well, unfortunately we did display a dummy of a 24mm during the last Photokina, thus raising the hopes of many photographers. So, we had to look into it...." Smiley is mine. I did get the impression that it is certainly a tougher design to produce, and they would really rather have just released a 30mm! I am very much looking forward to what these cameras can do with real wides for landscape enthusiasts especially but in all fields. Perhaps that will include a new article featuring your work there too. Now for that lottery win.

So, we had to look into it...." Sounds like a half-hearted commitment.......sure he meant to say "wish we never showed that damn 24mm, we're already stretched to the limit". Would be a shame if they did not deliver on the full compliment of lenses, it is such a sweet system. Wonder if they have done any product definition for the S3? stephanjuergenschulz Posted July 13, 2011 Share #28 Posted July 13, 2011 I don't think, that I have used the word "unfortunately". But the worlds best lenses need some time, to get created. Stephan Schulz
jplomley Posted July 24, 2011 Author Share #29 Posted July 24, 2011 But the worlds best lenses need some time, to get created. How much time are we talking Stephan? Can we expect the 24mm before the end of 2011?
