Micko Dundee Posted June 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) HI - I have signed up to the Street Photography class in NYC in September. The "weekend workshop" that was also offered seemed more M-class oriented than anything else so I passed on that one. As I am newbie to the X1 (2 months old), I wanted to see if anyone out there in the NYC area knows of any other X1 classes or personal instructors. I'm really looking to get a strong working knowledge of my X1 so i'm looking for X1-specific help and not just a general photography course. I think that a personal instructor or class would help me tremendously and give me a greater appreciation for the September workshop. Thanks, Mike
Advertisement Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Hi Micko Dundee, Take a look here NYC X1 classes or instructors?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
abrewer Posted June 19, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2011 It's a relatively simple camera (as digicams go) I'd just hang around here, read a lot, ask questions and (most importantly) go out and shoot that thing like there's no tomorrow (as that's how you learn photography anyway)
Micko Dundee Posted June 20, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted June 20, 2011 that's a fair response and definitely something that i've been doing a lot (taking lots of pics). but, i still think that a lesson from a someone would help. if there's any x1 owners in the nyc area who might be interested in a providing a lesson (paid, of course) please let me know. thanks mike
earleygallery Posted June 20, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 20, 2011 +1 to what Alan said. 'General' photography classes/workshops should be fine, there's nothing much (at all) on the X1 as far as I'm aware that needs to be taught specifically. Probably easier for you to think about what it is you feel you need to learn, and as Alan said, ask questions and/or practice it.
