Advertisement Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Hi Solar B, Take a look here Photoshop 4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
01af Posted June 5, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 5, 2011 I have access to PS4 if that is any good ... No, it's not. It doesn't even have a history palette or text layers or any of the later features, and it cannot handle any kind of raw image files. Unfortunately, Photoshop 4 has lost the ability to being upgraded to the current version at a reduced price long ago. So you better dump it and purchase either Photoshop Lightroon 3 or Photoshop CS5. 250swb Posted June 6, 2011 Share #3 Posted June 6, 2011 The terms Photoshop and CS (Creative Suite) are often mixed and matched. Do you mean you have access to CS4 Brian? There is an option in CS of 'Save for Web', but it only deals with smaller images to start with. For a larger RGB TIFF file out of the camera this is a route to go Go to Edit>Convert to Profile> and choose sRGB for the colour space Go to Image>Mode> and tick the '8 bit' option Go to Image>Image Size> and in the dialogue box make sure all three boxes at the bottom are ticked> change the resolution to 72 pixels/inch> change the longest side of the image in the top box to 800 pixels> press 'Ok' You should now have an image of the correct size to post on most forums. Put the magnifier tool over the image> right click> choose 'Actual Pixels' to see it real size. You can then sharpen the image (if you have only used the mild default input sharpening of CS). Go to Filter> Sharpen> Unsharp mask> and put in values like Amount 40%, Radius 0.6 Pixels, Threshold 0 Go to File> Save As> and perhaps give the image a title, choose JPEG in the drop down options box and press 'Save'. When asked for the compression you want to employ adjust the slider until it is around 130Kb. Steve
