DaveO Posted June 5, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just saw my statement from NCPS for processing, printing, and a mid range scan. It was about $ 31. Can anyone suggest a cheaper processor who does really good work. I have price lists from the Photo Place, Dwaynes, and Holland Photo which are about half the price. Are these very good? Has anyone tried Walmart, who sends their processing to Fuji. I tried a one hour shop in a neighboring town, but the prints came out muddy looking and the scan would not fully load onto my computer. I think I paid about $ 16 for this non-service. I guess I could forget the scans and save some money. It's kind of nice having the pictures on the computer though. Over the years I tend to misplace the prints and negatives. DaveO
Advertisement Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Hi DaveO, Take a look here Film processing. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted June 5, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 5, 2011 Can't comment on US processors, but for C41 films I get them processed and scanned only, then re-scan/print the ones I want at home. The low res scans are fine for web use or making small prints up to 5X7 is fine. I take it you don't have a scanner or printer?
DaveO Posted June 5, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted June 5, 2011 Thanks, I don't have a scanner or film printer. The prints themselves from processors are only 29 cents apiece so I don't know if buying one is worthwhile. DaveO
tgray Posted June 5, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 5, 2011 I use NCPS or Precision Camera. NCPS is $10/roll for dev and scan if you get the 2000x3000 scans.
