bill Posted June 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 1, 2011 Welcome. What's an MG?? No M has 40mm framelines; the CV lens brings up the 50mm framelines unless it has been aftermarket-adapted to bring up the 35. When you say you are finding focus difficult, do you mean that you can't interpret what you are seeing in the viewfinder or that you have had some photos developed and they are out of focus? Regards, Bill
jacarape Posted June 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted June 1, 2011 Can I guess that MG is a typo for MP? First advice is practice practice practice. As you know, RF focusing is way different than an SLR. For me with older eyes, I find aligning a split image much easier to focus a fuzzy image when my vision is fuzzy. Are you having shots that are consitenly front or back focused? M. Valdemar Posted June 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 1, 2011 Turn on the autofocus. Leica does their best to hide the on/off switch, but it is there.
earleygallery Posted June 1, 2011 Share #5 Posted June 1, 2011 Well, it's an M, we know that. If it's a digital M, you might be seeing problems with the lens (front or back focus issues) which don't show up so readily on film. Search the forum for 'front focus' and 'back focus' and you'll find hours of reading on the subject. Assuming the lens is fine, then there could possibly be an issue with the rangefinder - i.e. it's not calibrated correctly. Assuming the lens, camera/rangefinder are fine, then it's down to user error. Might be helpful for you to respond on some of these points first.
