zapp Posted June 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am wondering about the rangefinder image of M cameras especially the 0.85 version. Using a magnification device (1.25x) on a 0.72 rangefinder creates something similar to the 0.85 finder, The image will be larger, but also the area used to foucs the image. I find it quite distracting when the 90 mm frame area is covered with the focusing patch. Does the 0.85 version also magnify the focusing patch or just the image? Advertisement Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Hi zapp, Take a look here Viewfinder. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jerryharwood Posted June 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 1, 2011 you do not need to use the image magnifier with the ttl .85. it is a much better image acquisition with lenses from 35mm up.
too old to care Posted June 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted June 1, 2011 Maybe this will help. FIrst image are the 50-75mm lines. Second image are the 35-135mm lines. Note, you can barely see the 35mm line at the top. It is in the viewfinder, but so far at the edge my LX3 could not capture it. Third shot are the 90mm lines. On the .85 there are no 28mm lines. As you can see the focus patch is still quite small. Wayne
