Best bet for camera information is the Leica web site. They have descriptions and tech specs for all current and recent models. For the U.S., that's Leica Camera AG - Home. I use it as my carry about everyday camera and I bought it to replace the Nikon P4000 point and shoot, mainly because its smaller and lighter. There are loads of reviews of the Panasonic ZS10 and the lens, buttons and internals are the same. I think the V-Lux 30 is nicer looking and feels better in the hand. Its comfortable to use, takes good pictures, focusing is quick, and it has loads of zoom. Its a point and shoot so I'm not expecting too much.. But I like it. (not as much as my M8 though) I would like to see a RAW mode, and I'm still not sure how useful the touch screen on the back is. Karl Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The problem is where does this sit in the range it is price slightly cheaper than the D-Lux 5 but is it good enough to take that slot? I was tempted to buy a D-Lux 5 but I thought if I hold off they might update it with GPS tagging. I assume that the sensor size is probably smaller than the D-Lux without looking and a slower lens. ajthornbury Posted August 30, 2011 Share #28 Posted August 30, 2011 I have a v-lux20, It is fitted with GPS. Although I don't use the GPS very often, it does drain the battery when in use. I only switch it ON on those rare ocassions when I need to stamp the location. I use the V-Lux20 together with a D2 and Oly E620. Images from it are very good, and the long zoom range is useful at times.. I would expect the v-Lux30, to be just as good but with a longer zoom range.
