3rdtrick Posted May 25, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted May 25, 2011 Thanks, Paul. I see that several times a week and thought it would make a nice picture. Usually it is dark or cloudy but was nice that day. Pete

likalar Posted May 25, 2011 Share #6 Posted May 25, 2011 Pete, this is excellent cityscape, and including the train and delicate overhead wires really completes the picture. Larry

Artichoke Posted June 4, 2011 Share #8 Posted June 4, 2011 Pete for this fine cityscape of a great city Amtrak sure has come a long way since I rode the rails between New York & Philly when I was in school this speedster makes the trip in 1:15 & has WiFi makes me want to return to the NE Corridor just to try it Philadelphia has a particularly lovely rail station as a native Philadelphian I have always felt NYC's decision to raze the magnificent Pennsylvania Station and replace it with the present monstrosity characteristic of the two city's different personalities
George James Posted June 5, 2011 Share #9 Posted June 5, 2011 Excellent shot, well done.
3rdtrick Posted June 5, 2011 Author Share #10 Posted June 5, 2011 Thank you, George, Artichoke, I agree about the NYC thing and that is what started the interest in historic preservation. Fortunately the NYC Post Office has moved and there are plans to convert that building to a railroad station as it is over top of the railroad anyway. I am thinking of Photoshoping the locomotive number from 2016 to 2012 and submitting it for the annual calendar photo. Pete
