This spot was one of the highlights of our trip to Yosemite many years ago. When we were there, there were no others around and it was one of the most quiet and serene locations in the park. The Sequoias are magnificent trees.

Thank you! I appreciate your kind words.

 

Paul, I agree with you, it's a remarkable place (though not so peaceful anymore...). They opened the grove during our stay at the park. There was too much snow this year and most of the higher elevation trails were closed. Here is a snapshot where my daughter points out the still buried bulletin boards (and note the bear-proof garbage can on the left -only its top is visible). Despite all this, there were quite a lot of people roaming about when we visited the grove.

I am convinced that nowadays, Yosemite is always crowded; in areas open to the public, it's always high season. :(
