M9, 50mm Summicron The Lincoln sat in the U.S. Navy mothball fleet for 30 years, and is being cleaned up for its tow voyage thru the Panama Canal, to Texas, for dismantling. Thanks for taking a look.

Dave and Stuart, thanks for your comments! Back story: In the SF area, in Susuin Bay, there are several dozen Navy mothballed ships awaiting decisions. They have been there for decades, so lead-based paint is peeling. There are no qualified dismantlers/recyclers in the area, so they get towed to Texas, which is quite an undertaking. This one sold for nearly $500,000.00, IIRC. Good riddance!

Larry,

An excellent picture with the great composition that gives the impact, fine tones and sharpness. Although the disposition of the ship is necessary, It will be a sad ending for those who had served aboard her.
