Advertisement Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Hi lykaman, Take a look here Hyperfocal (X1). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mjh Posted May 4, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted May 4, 2011 Provided you have the latest firmware installed you can set the focus so that the right hand side of the DoF bar touches infinity (basically what you would do if there was a DoF scale on the lens). lykaman Posted May 4, 2011 Author Share #3 Â Posted May 4, 2011 Surely though Hyperfocal actually focuses past infinity! I do understand your Input & have used the settings you suggest. Maybe I should use an old manual lens and replicate the settings on my X1.
mjh Posted May 4, 2011 Share #4  Posted May 4, 2011 Surely though Hyperfocal actually focuses past infinity! Whatever that’s supposed to mean … but it doesn’t. Hyperfocal focusing ensures a depth of field extending from half the hyperfocal distance up to infinity.
Lightwrangler Posted May 4, 2011 Share #5  Posted May 4, 2011 Surely though Hyperfocal actually focusespast infinity!  So you should get a couple of nice, sharp shots of Jehova then. Please post them here, but use the picture section, otherwise they will be deleted by an admin.  scnr  Mike

robert blu Posted May 4, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted May 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In manual focus I set F 8 or 11 and than move the wheel untill the right side of the green bar is very near to infinity and check which is than the minimum distance focus. In case I need I turn the wheel in opposite direction untill I need, knowing in this case I can shoot at near distances and the infinity (which sould be the background) will be slightly out of focus. robert
phancj Posted May 4, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted May 4, 2011 The V2 firmware makes hyperfocal a snap, simply adjust f/stop and move wheel to desired position, the width of the "green bar" will tell us what is indeed in focus. Very simple I think, isnt it? Â CJ
