elansprint72 Posted February 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2007 Holy snakes Rolo, another super landscape. I see there is a plan to turn it back into an island, they say that the causeway has caused( ) the bay to silt up, where this vegitation is now was golden sand 50 years ago. Cheers, Pete. Peter41951 Posted February 1, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 1, 2007 Another superb shot. Wonderful perspective....
stuny Posted February 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 1, 2007 Rolo - Both a very amusing title AND a superb shot. I very much like the perspective distortion of the wide angle lens and the composition. Then, of course, there's your signature high contrast with full tonal range. azzo Posted February 1, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 1, 2007 Beautiful framing and treatment of this image. This is indeed, a very nice b&w image. Azzo

dotandcom Posted February 2, 2007 Share #8 Posted February 2, 2007 Bravo, maestro! The rope in the foreground (and is that a nest in its coils?) helps give a tremendous sense of perspective. As Stuart says, the whole carries your trademark signature. To cap a pleasurable experience, by coincidence I have just finished reading a biography of Jefferson! All the best, Chris

Rolo Posted February 2, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted February 2, 2007 Rolo: Is that Mount St Michael in France? Yes Rob. I mentioned that I'd been there when you posted yours a couple of weeks ago. When I arrived there was a massive queue for the carpark. I pulled over and tried to shoot from the river bank, but got nothing to my satisfaction. Fortunately for me, I was on a motrcycle and did a quick turnabout, travelled upstream a couple of miles and found a bridge to cross. Better position IMO. robsteve Posted February 2, 2007 Share #11 Posted February 2, 2007 When I was there with my wife, we went out on the roads, found the roads to the top of the dykes and just drove the dykes until I found what I needed. I don't think they expected tourist up on the dykes, but it gave me that nice shot with the shephard. We tend to travel in the ealy spring or fall so there is never much for tourist traffic like you had. I have also seen some Mount St Michael shots, but od a Mount St Michael in the UK. Rolo Posted February 2, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted February 2, 2007 I have also seen some Mount St Michael shots, but od a Mount St Michael in the UK. Yes, St Michael's Mount in the south of England and Mont St Michel in France. The French one is far more dramatic. Rolo
