What we need for Mr. Puts ia highly competent assistant who can make lens comparisons in images under varying everyday circumstances. Puts is just a literate PR impressionist. I've no use for his stuff. It fosters nothinllg but more 'literate impressionism" than useful everyday examples of Leica gear.

He is dead to me.

that seems a bit cold -- being dead to you.

just received mine through a bookstore in germany. arrived in one piece, nicely done graphics, not a book to read cover to cover imho, but a compendium that looks good on the coffee table and has lots of interesting points here and there, a work of pure scholarship it isn't but unless you are working towards a phd in leica this book seems good enough. i do wonder why anyone would have this compulsion to put together a book like this but to each his own.

You have a point on lenses... indeed I find the lenses'section not the most intersting part of the book (and, btw, to bea sort of "buying/comparision guide" for users I think wasn't the goal of Puts) : personally, I like a lot all the historical parts for their deep perspective: the chapter on technicalities of lenses' design, theory of aberrations etc... are also very pleasant to read.
