mzcloud Posted April 19, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a billingham leica combination in black. As it's too small to fit 3 M bodies, I got a black Hadley Pro today. The store tells me the Hadley Pro is in the new fibrenyte material. I always thought my combination is canvas. Now at home with a closer look, the 2 bag materials look exactly the same, so what is it? Canvas or Fibrenyte. Its important as I want to order an Avea pocket they don't have in stock and want the materials to be same Thanks
Advertisement Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Hi mzcloud, Take a look here Billingham Canvas & fibrenyte. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
swamiji Posted April 19, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 19, 2011 The Hadley Pro comes in both fabrics. I would check the tag that came with the bag. My canvas pro has faded with use. However my fybernight series 7 has not.
mzcloud Posted April 20, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted April 20, 2011 I got a reply from billingham directly. Leica billingham bags are all canvas. So my Hadley pro is canvas. thanks for your help
EricC Posted April 20, 2011 Share #4 Posted April 20, 2011 I hate to put doubt into your mind but the Hadley Pro that I have is in the Fibrenyte material.
lars_bergquist Posted April 20, 2011 Share #5 Posted April 20, 2011 I hate to put doubt into your mind but the Hadley Pro that I have is in the Fibrenyte material. Does "canvas" always mean "cotton canvas"? Fibrenyte may refer to the yarn in the canvas. The old man from the Age under Canvas
250swb Posted April 20, 2011 Share #6 Posted April 20, 2011 AS I understand it the Billingham Leica bag and the Hadley Pro are two different bags. The Leica bag only comes in canvas, the Hadley in canvas or Fibrenyte. So if your Hadley looks like the same fabric its canvas. Steve
swamiji Posted April 20, 2011 Share #7 Posted April 20, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have both, they are very different bags.
Xmas Posted April 20, 2011 Share #8 Posted April 20, 2011 Hi Billingham bags - Materials I have noticed that some billinghams get grubby very quickly and some stay new. Noel
mzcloud Posted April 20, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted April 20, 2011 Thanks.. To me either material makes no difference, per Bea at billingham, if your product tag does not say fibrenyte than it's canvas. Ie: black/black is canvas Anyone have an avea 3 or 5 to go with your Hadley pro? Which size do you have or suggest?
swamiji Posted April 21, 2011 Share #10 Posted April 21, 2011 My understanding is that the Leica end caps are the same as the avea3. I have the Leica end caps and the avea5. The avea5 fit the pro nicely the end caps do not. The strap on the pro is to wide for the end caps.
bill Posted April 21, 2011 Share #11 Posted April 21, 2011 If the end caps don't fit the Hadley Pro, they are not the same as the AVEA3. I have used two for years on mine. They will take a 135, or a 35/90 joined by a B2B ring. They can be used on the bag, or hung on a belt. Ideal for lenses. Regards, Bill
swamiji Posted April 21, 2011 Share #12 Posted April 21, 2011 The Leica end cap is designed for the Leica (Billingham Alice) Bag. They are not available through retailers but from Billingham directly. My local retailer tried to sell me avec3 for my Leica bag, so I summized that they were the same, just the detailing was different. The straps that hold on to the bag are further apart on the avec5 than on the end cap.
