Throughout Asia you can find macaques, langurs and other monkeys around temples, and I always wondered why until I observed them eating the offerings left by the devout.

The first two images are of macaques in the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa, and the next is at Yapawa Temple in the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka

The real, the very authentic 3 monkeys so well photographed!

They do yell, look, and listen! And man, do they eat!

Stuart you are guilty of destroying the oldest legend about wisdom, by showing that the real wisdom is in eating what was intended for others, namely, to make it worse, what was intended for the Gods!

Monkey business, I presume!

Big, Chrlie, Herb & Euston - Thank you.

Henri - Thank you. Looking at these I was wondering if I shot them with the DMR with the 80--200 zoom, but the exif data says Digilux 2. Amazing little camera.

Turner - Thank you. The three in the last image quickly removed their Hell's Angels leather motorcycle jackets so we wouldn't know of their association, so your observation is spot-on.

George - Thank you.
